About Us
Located in Asheville, NC, OUTthINK is a virtual, digital arts studio committed to leveraging art to prioritize social justice and human rights advocacy work in both for-profit and non-profit communications.  OUTthINK is made up of a queer husband and wife team who stretch to live their values in who they are, how they share, and how they show up in the world.
Michael Hoeben is a transgender man and human rights advocate who currently serves as the Transgender/HIV Bridge & Retention Coordinator at WNCCHS.  Michael is also the part of the blue ridge pride center team, acting as the board of director's vice president and as the director of community partnerships.  Myela is a Native American (Anishinaabe) artist whose life-long activism and lived experience has shaped her perspective and perception.  THE TEAM works together closely, as every element of the visual experience tells a story – a story that we share in this merging of ideas and amplification of ideals.
OUTthINK's multimedia art-vocacy MISSION/VIsion:
Our mission is to apply a queer lens to show and tell stories of and from the margins through visual arts, believing in the power of seeing and celebrating the "Other" as critical in breaking down the biases and barriers that continue to divide the human family.
Our vision is to offer our services to a range of like-minded, human rights-driven projects, organizations, and efforts at an affordable rate, championing creative solidarity as a path to individual and societal transformation.
